Fantastic First Graders

 Our first full week of school was great. The students had Art on Tuesday and they created a self portrait. On Wednesday they had Music, they practice songs that they will sing in Chapel. On Thursday we had Library time in our room. The students looked at books and I read books to them. On Friday the students will have PE, and coach Godfrey will teach the student how to play different types of games.

Please send a small jacket or a sweater for your child, our room is a little chilly. We have snack at 8:15, please send your child a snack.

We will have a Practice Spelling Test each week on Thursday. Please check your child's folder each day.

I hope that this will be an exciting learning experience for this class.

 WE MADE IT!

The students made it through the first week of school. 

Monday August 24,2020 each student will receive a Homework sheet in their Homework Folder. If your child goes to the Aftercare Program at LCS they will have time to work on their homework.  If  you have any questions about homework please email me at k.barringer@leechristianschool.org. 

Please send a jacket or sweater for your child. It is chilly in the classroom. Please don't forget the raincoat. We have to go the gym two days a week and the lunchroom everyday, when it rains they will need it.

We will start out with a Reading Handbook. Please review the letters and blends. We will be accessing each of the students and place them in a group to begin the Reading Books. 

Math Facts will be sent home this week. Place go over these each night. The students need to memorize them and it will help them through out this school year  and the coming years also.

If you can't complete the Homework one night; write a note and put it in the Homework folder. We will work something out. Don't have a bad night or morning because of unfinished Homework it is not a BIG DEAL.

 What you need to know: 

 The first day of school is Thursday August 19,  2020. School begins at 8:00                                                                                                                                                                        and it is a half day.we will dismiss at 11:45. 

 Please bring all school supplies. Please label all the supplies with your child's name.lace all the supplies on their coat hook in the hall or in the cubby in the hall. Your child will need a mask to wear when we are in the hallway and when they going to and from events held outside of the classroom.

Please send a snack each day with your child. Our lunch schedule has changed due to the High School going to the Block Schedule.  We have more classes and we are trying to remain cautious and practice  social distancing. 

There will be information about the First Grade in your child's folder on Friday August 21. Please look over the information and fill out the information sheet. This is for my records in the class room and for your contact information.
